Olivia's Very First Baby Doll

At last, she's ready to play with dolls. Olivia became obsessed with getting into the diaper drawer and and diapering every stuffed animal she has. The family cats wouldn't cooperate, or they'd be in diapers too.

Baby Doll
So, Baby Doll came to life on Nana's sewing machine.

The eyes are painted with acrylic craft paint.
The hair, eyelashes, nose, and mouth are drawn on with Sharpie.

The doll pattern is a freebie from
Fairfield Fabrics website.

The diaper pattern was free too,
but it was too big so I had to re-draw it.

The dress is a simple T-shape, open down the back with velcro fasteners. I found it in an old pattern bought years ago.

Of course, every baby needs a quilt

. . . and a few new dresses with matching diapers

. . . and a diaper bag, changing pad, and wipes

After Baby Doll went to her new home, Nana just had to make another one, including all the accessories, to live at her house.
