Hand Painted Cloth Doll

Louella Rose
This doll was made from a pattern that was published in Cloth Doll Magazine. She is made in the style of doll maker Isannah Walker.

After cutting out her body I painted her face with acrylic craft paint and added detail with a sepia Pitt pen. I sewed and stuffed the body, then painted her hair. I also painted her shoes. I brushed clear acrylic sealer
on her head, lower arms, and lower legs. After sewing lace to her boot tops, she was dressed in pantaloons, dress, pinafore, and bonnett.

She was so much fun to make, I have sewn about eight of them, each with different faces and clothes, and of course, names.

Market Baskets

My daughter joined an organic farm co-op last summer and asked me to make some baskets for her to use while picking up her vegetables. They measure 12x16 inches at the base and are 9 inches high. I used a black Pitt marker to draw the vegetable and strawberry designs and then colored them with oil based
colored pencils.
